These are images in the latest series. The prone figure is often utilized, and the timbre of the scene is often stark, leaden with the light of being between awake and asleep. As often occurs in other work, there is the feeling of an ambiguous (and possible violent) action of which we now view the aftermath. The "Elephant Island" series buries the figure, in that series the piece is performative in that my approach to the canvas is dependent upon placing myself in the mindset and plight of the figure. These pieces are aimed at exposure from the opposite angle; the helpless figure on display.
