The artists in the second annual Distillery Program Residency organized an impromptu "opening" of some of the work being generated during the run of the program. Centered around installation, these pieces were created with the idea of incorporating them into the raw and natural architecture of the host building on the Southside of Pittsburgh, the Brewhouse
"Lycanthropic" displayed four new paintings and a hanging sculpture in the theater area. The paintings included as components of this piece are revised self portraits from the past. The theme of the work specifically centered around the act of painting; the self-examination and humiliation, the ever-shifting forms, and self-sabotage as a method of momentarily trapping an idea.
